Gil Alexander
Fontaine Futuristics
'Outlived Usefulness'
Well, that's the end of the Alpha Series. The Pair Bond simply worked too well. That madwoman Tenenbaum bit the company hand, turning some of the bonded Sisters human again. Others were... lost to Splicers. Either way, the trauma proved too much for the bonded Protectors, resulting in unreasoning rage, or coma. We can harness their suicidal aggression as foot soldiers... but no more, I'm afraid.
Today I saw one kneeling near a Gatherer's Garden and... crying.

Yeah, I was sort of reluctant to fight any Alphas after that, too. :<
Thank you so much! <3

I didn't like fighting any Big Daddies, they didn't do anything wrong *wibble*

Honestly I don't think it's really pitiful. It really depends on how you look at it. Alphas may not have a future or anything for them but the still live a life of vengeance for their lost little sister. In my eyes he's still keeping up the image of a knight even if insane and trying to kill me.

Hmmm... Interesting point, but that still doesn't sound like much of a 'life' to me, though. 8D;
Its sole purpose is to kill others because it can't kill itself, so really its taking out its self hatred on others- which isn't particularly admirable... or noble. Knights don't mindlessly kill out of grief and observe a strict code of chivalry, and it isn't really the act of an 'avenging angel' since Delta had no role in the sister's death.

It may be out of control but still vengeful and many knights aren't heroes and who else to blame but everyone else for the child's death? It's the society as a whole that lead to her end and they aren't just knights as an occupation, it's their duty and you could almost say a parent to them. I couldn't see a knight reacting in a fairly different way in reality if their child or loved one was killed by the very society they lived within other than just being consumed by sadness. More than likely the ones that could kill themselves were just the ones that succumbed to the induced coma. It may not be much of a life but most people don't have much of a life in Rapture.
